Support that starts with your practice’s working day

A reception workstation that cannot reach the clinical system, a failed scanner or an unreliable internet connection can interrupt appointments. Our first step is to establish which users and workflows are affected, whether the practice can continue safely, and who needs to be involved in the fix.

We support practices in Mornington, Mount Eliza, Mount Martha, Dromana, Safety Beach, Rosebud, Rye, Sorrento and surrounding Peninsula communities. Our operational base is Cheltenham. Onsite attendance is arranged around the work required and your practice’s availability.

When remote help is enough—and when to arrange a visit

With authorised access, we can investigate many workstation, account, software connection and configuration issues remotely. If an issue needs equipment replacement, cabling, a physical network check or a coordinated installation, we discuss an onsite visit and the likely interruption before proceeding.

For urgent help, call (03) 8578 3077 and describe the operational impact. Response and attendance depend on the agreed support arrangement and availability. Travel coverage does not promise a fixed arrival time.

The clinical systems and infrastructure we support

  • Practice software environments: workstations, servers, connectivity and user access around Best Practice, MedicalDirector and Genie. Application-specific issues are coordinated with the relevant vendor.
  • Reception and consulting rooms: printing, scanning, network connections and the devices staff rely on throughout appointments.
  • Access and security: Microsoft 365, multifactor authentication, staff access changes and managed protection for the wider IT environment.
  • Continuity: backup monitoring, restoration planning, internet and phone dependencies, and a documented approach to disruption.

For dental clinics, our dental IT support page explains practice software, imaging and surgery requirements in more detail.

Opening, relocating or changing your clinic’s systems

Before a clinic move or software change, we help identify internet lead times, network and device requirements, clinical integrations, supplier responsibilities and a workable cutover window. An agreed test plan should cover reception and clinical workflows before normal appointments resume.

Use the software migration readiness checklist to prepare for that conversation. It helps identify testing, data reconciliation and rollback responsibilities before a go-live date is agreed.

Healthcare experience you can review

Podium IT has more than 12 years of healthcare IT experience, with managed support arrangements for around 40 clinics and project experience across approximately 50 clinics in total. These figures describe our wider healthcare work, not a claim that all those clinics are on the Peninsula.

Our anonymised case studies explain a GP clinic infrastructure change, a new-practice setup and a MedicalDirector-to-Best-Practice migration. They describe the work and outcomes while protecting client-sensitive information.

Tell us what your clinic needs

For a useful first discussion, share your suburb, approximate staff or workstation numbers, practice software and the problem or project you want help with. Please leave patient records, passwords and other sensitive information out of the initial enquiry.

Remote and onsite support

Medical IT support across Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula.

Podium IT provides remote and onsite IT support across metropolitan Melbourne, including the bayside, southeastern, eastern, northern and western suburbs. We also service the Mornington Peninsula and surrounding areas within approximately two hours’ drive of our Cheltenham base.

Arrange support for your location

Tell us your suburb, the systems affected and whether the issue is interrupting your team. We assess what can be handled remotely and arrange an onsite visit when physical work is needed. Attendance, travel and any after-hours arrangements are agreed for your practice; our service area is not a two-hour response guarantee.
